The chocolates and the roses are all symbols for the picture perfect celebration of love. But for local shops, it’s their chance to win your affection and an important time for sales, that helps sustain them for the year. Love is in the air and sales are soaring. “There’s something for everyone,” said Pease’s executive chocolatier and general manager, Robert Solomon. “Valentine’s day for us at Pease’s is a very exciting time,” said Solomon. “Because we offer quality chocolates that generations give as legacy gifts.” They have a sweet, smooth specialty. “It’s a medium to create things that really put smiles on people’s faces,” said Solomon. “A special part of my life.” But it’s not just a passion; it’s a lifeline. “January is slow with the weather and February is the first chocolate holiday of the year so we look forward to it each and every year,” said Solomon.
