SAF CAMPAIGN PROMOTES FLOWER BUYING AND SHARING

As part of its “Petal It Forward” campaign, the Society of American Florists’ (SAF) will randomly present two flower bouquets each to people throughout New York City on Wednesday, Oct. 7. Each recipient will be asked to “Petal It Forward” by giving one of the bouquets to someone in his or her life or even a stranger who could use a smile.

SAF will use the event to promote its consumer websites www.aboutflowers.com andwww.aboutflowersblog.com, and recipients of the bouquets will be encouraged to share how they Petal It Forward by posting pictures along with the hashtag #PetalItForward and tagging SAF’s Instagram page @About_Flowers or Twitter page @FlowerFactor. Along with how-to advice, “Petal It Forward” materials are available at www.safnow.org/petalitforward.

SAF invites all florists to join its efforts during the week of the campaign by hosting “Petal It Forward” events in their communities and aims to generate media coverage highlighting the ways in which flowers enhance work productivity and wellbeing.
