Long before the advent of floral foam, floral designers frequently used chicken wire — and before that, pine-needle packs! — as the mechanic for keeping flowers in place in their arrangements.
And, as the adage goes, everything old is new again. In the past few years, many floral designers have reverted to using chicken wire as their design mechanic of choice.
