An exquisite mounded gathering of gorgeous Cymbidium orchids rests atop a botanically ruffled collar of Hydrangea florets that are glued to a cardboard flange from a bolt of ribbon, giving a posh, upscale look that belies this nosegay's simple construction. The 'antique' mauve-and-green florets complement the blush-colored tropicals, enabling them to sparkle brilliantly like fresh floral jewels.

MATERIALS: Cymbidium orchids and Hydrangeas from Orchids Direct; Galax leaves from favorite supplier; Tack 2000 spray adhesive from Design Master Color Tool; wood picks from W.J. Cowee.
 
HOW TO 1:
Glue Hydrangea florets in
thick, overlapping layers
atop a sturdy cardboard
flange, adhering them with
spray adhesive. 		HOW TO 2:
Wire and tape the orchids,
and form them into a mounded
cluster. Insert the taped wires
through the flange's opening,
and insert wood picks through
the wires to hold the flange in
place.		 HOW TO 3:
To conceal the wood picks and the base of the flange, cover the flange's underside with Galax leaves, applying them with spray adhesive.
