premium poinsettia
Golden accents provide added value to a traditional Christmas plant.
Poinsettias are favorites among consumers at Christmastime, but that doesn’t mean the plants have to be basic. Here, golden accents dress up a crimson poinsettia, playing up the popularity of the metallic color for the coming holiday season. Different values of gold are presented on the various botanical elements that fill the rich, darker-toned gold pot, including fresh artichokes brushed with gold paint; Magnolia leaves with a marbleized finish, created by misting them with water and gold paint; and rings of bullion wire. Red dogwood branches, also sprayed gold, help extend the scope of the design as do stems of white pine, which extend on one side to create asymmetrical balance against the weight of the poinsettia.
