wedding bouquet
foliage free
This mixed bouquet features
smooth stems and a focus on blooms.
Featuring a trendy monochromatic color palette of burgundies, reds and
pinks, this hand-tied bouquet is a hot selection for early-spring
weddings. Most of the chosen flowers have stems that are naturally
nonfoliated, contributing a smooth, pure look with no greenery among the
blossoms.
To create this bouquet, the flowers are arranged by hand in a
traditional manner, and the stems are bound with waterproof tape. A
wrapping of hot-pink wired ribbon, secured with a single corsage pin,
conceals the binding point and adds a fashion-forward detail.
Caution: The stems of callas and miniature callas exude a liquid
that can stain clothing, so be sure to dry the stems with a towel before
handing the bouquet to the bride or bridesmaid who will carry it.
MATERIALS: ‘Hocus Pocus’ roses, Freesias, windflowers (Anemones),
Persian buttercups (Ranunculi) and ‘Red’ miniature callas (Zantedeschias)
from California cut flower growers; ribbon from favorite supplier.
