design WEDDING
summertime spirals
Swirled wire accents are spellbinding contributions to this charming
hand-tied bouquet.
A
lovely hand-gathered bouquet gains hypnotic appeal with multiple swirls
of pink aluminum wire that appear to be arranged among the blooms.
(Actually, the swirled wires are assembled first, as an armature, or
supportive framework, and the blooms are arranged into them.) While the
blushing nosegay is delightful on its own, the spiraled aluminum accents
add playful shimmer to the monochromatic palette.
MATERIALS:
miniature callas, sweet peas, Nerines and globe amaranths (Gomphrenas)
from favorite suppliers; Oasis™ Aluminum Wire from Oasis® Floral
Products.

HOW TO
1:
Roll long pieces of aluminum wire into spirals using a pair of
needle-nose pliers |
|
HOW TO
2:
Bend the ends of the wires
down, so the spirals are somewhat horizontal, and gather them all
into a “posy.” |
|
HOW TO
3:
Arrange the fresh florals
through and around the wiry accents. Take care to conceal the wire
“stems.” |
