Automakers offer new delivery vehicle options for 2013

by Matt Kelly

With each new line of 2013 models, America’s top automakers are freshening up their delivery vehicle options. And if you’re shopping for a new cargo or crew van for your business, you’ll find vehicles as fresh as your product. Don’t forget to ask your auto dealer about commercial programs and incentives (see below). Also below, there’s a comparison chart to help you select the ideal vehicle for your business.

commercial programs
and incentives

Several services and money-saving upfit options are available to florists and other business owners who purchase vehicles for commercial use. Here are the programs available for full-size, mini and compact cargo vans.

Commercial small-business vehicle purchasers at any Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge or Ram dealership will receive their choice of “On the Job” incentives, including two years no-charge oil, lube and filter; up to $1,000 graphic skin allowance; or up to $1,000 upfitter allowance. In addition, those who buy from a BusinessLink® dealer will receive specialized sales and service perks including free BusinessLink membership, priority service and maintenance, extended service hours and free loaner vehicles.

Ford’s Commercial Connection program provides options for upfitting E-Series Cargo Vans as well as the Transit Connect Van. No-charge storage upgrade options for the E-Series Cargo Vans include the EconoCargo® Interior System of liner panels, which helps regulate the temperature inside the vehicle; QuietFlex® Storage Systems; and Masterack® Racks and Bins. Options for the Transit Connect Van include the Leggett & Platt® Interior System, Sortimo® Interior System, Adrian Steel® Interior System, racks and bins, and partitions. Customers who opt for none of these packages are eligible for upfit assistance up to $1,500 on E-Series Cargo Vans and up to $500 on the Transit Connect Van to help them modify their vehicles however they wish.

Nissan debuts compact cargo

The all-new Nissan NV200 Compact Cargo Van, which made its North American debut at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show in February, is set to join the growing lineup of Nissan commercial vehicles in early 2013 at 300 Nissan Commercial Vehicle dealerships nationwide. The NV200 follows the full-size Nissan NV Cargo Van, introduced in spring 2011, and provides a new entry point for current cargo van buyers looking for a compact, efficient alternative to their larger, less fuel-efficient vehicles.

The GM Business Choice program is available with eligible new Chevrolet or GMC vehicles and provides a variety of incentives from which businesses can select. Options comprise upfit packages, including a commercial bin system from Adrian Steel, upfit cash up to $1,000, a $500 gift card for Lowe’s home-improvement store and a $500 statement credit on the GM Business World MasterCard.

With its “upfitter friendly” features, such as near-vertical walls, the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter can be easily customized to meet your business’s needs. A variety of upfit options are available from more than 50 approved upfitters and bodybuilding specialists, including shelving, cargo partitions, sidewall paneling, refrigeration and more. Special financing such as fixed APRs and fixed monthly payments are available at certain times throughout the year from Mercedes-Benz Financial Services. In addition, customizable financing and lease models that will fit any business need are available through Mercedes-Benz Sprinter dealers.

The Nissan Commercial Incentive Program is designed specifically for business owners who use commercial vans as an integral part of their businesses. Buyers can choose from a no-charge commercial upfit package, a no-charge graphics package or a $700 cash back option in lieu of these packages. The upfit packages are from Adrian Steel and include the choice of a Cargo Management System with a steel cabin/cargo partition and three 44-inch shelving units or a Utility Package featuring a steel cabin/cargo partition and an exterior (standard roof) or interior (high roof) utility rack. The graphics package, from Original Wraps, offers up to 70 square feet of professionally designed exterior graphic material, with installation included.
