Designs by J. Keith White, AIFD

evergreen basket
Sprigs of fresh fir transform a wire basket into a lush “living” vessel for a rustic, nature-inspired bouquet. A bird’s nest, occupied by a pair of eggs, enhances the outdoorsy look.

MATERIALS: carnations, Hypericum, fir, holly and ivy courtesy of FTD Flower Exchange; Aged Wire Basket from Jamali Floral & Garden Supplies; buffalo plaid ribbon from Reliant Ribbon; plastic eggs from Melrose International; birch twigs and twine from favorite suppliers; found nest.

HOW TO:
Arrange branches of fresh fir around the inside edge of a wire basket. Place a liner into the center of the basket. Bind the basket handles together with twine on each side. Nestle wood-picked bows into the greenery on each side of the basket where the handles join.

rustic romance
A textural metal pot cover sets the tone for this casual mix of seasonal botanicals. A cluster of ‘Mirabel’ spray roses lends a pop of vibrant color to the neutral pine cones and foliages, which are accented with a multiloop bow of twine.

MATERIALS: ‘Mirabel’ spray roses, Hydrangeas, cedar and holly courtesy of FTD Flower Exchange;Ā  Fall Pot Cover from burton + BURTON; pine cones and twine from favorite suppliers.

transseasonal texture
The rusty orange-to-red palette of this design makes it suitable for selling from Thanksgiving through Christmas. Angel vine offers shelter over the roses and other botanicals, including a few pine cones that repeat the pattern of the footed tin planter into which the materials are arranged.

MATERIALS: ‘Black Magic’ and ‘Alhambra’ roses, ‘Sunset’ garden roses, ‘Mirabel’ spray roses, Hydrangeas, Hypericum and cedar courtesy of FTD Flower Exchange; angel vine from Knud Nielsen Company; Tin Pine Cone Planter from burton + BURTON.
