Unusual blooms and cinnamon sticks combine to make a flavorful selection for fall.
Design by Bill J. Harper, AIFD, AAF, FAM

Cinnamon sticks, which are the inner bark of the Cinnamomum trees native to East India, make a fitting cover for a glass cylinder filled with a fun blend of exotic materials. The technique for creating the aromatic covering, which is demonstrated in our online video, can be applied to other materials, and the final products can be used in a variety of ways, from vase covers to decorative garlands. ■

MATERIALS: fresh pincushions (Leucospermum), kangaroo paws (Anigozanthos), Scabiosa pods and uhule fern curls from favorite supplier; preserved salal leaves from Mountain Farms; cinnamon sticks from Knud Nielsen Company; glass cylinder from Syndicate Sales; Oasis™ Bind Wire from Oasis® Floral Products.
