take the cake
An impressive floral "cake" makes a great centerpiece for a bridal shower or luncheon.
In this delightful design, perfect for celebrations of all kinds, a profusion of roses, Godetias, China asters and statice, ranging from delicate rose to hot-pink hues, is accented with tufts of baby's breath. A collar of layered salal leaves—crafted by stapling clusters of the leaves together—forms a lush verdant base for the composition. The collar can be created ahead of time to save on labor the day of the event.
MATERIALS:
hybrid tea and spray roses, Godetias, China asters, statice, baby's breath (Gypsophila) and salal from favorite suppliers; cake stand from private collection.
